Hair Restoration with PRF

At Skin MD, we understand that hair loss is a distressing experience for both men and women. Statistics show that 55% of women and 85% of men experience hair loss. Hair generally begins to thin out on the top of the head but any area of the scalp can be affected. Depending on the type of hair loss you’re experiencing, there are many options to choose from. For those with thinning hair or minor hair loss, prescription to non-prescription medication and homeopathic supplements are available. For more severe hair loss, others turn to surgical hair implants.

At Skin MD, we offer an innovative and non-surgical technology known as Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) therapy for those looking beyond medication, supplements, and invasive surgery. PRF is an injectable treatment that utilizes the healing properties of the patient’s blood cells to promote hair growth and combat hair loss. PRF is safe and requires no downtime with long lasting results!

What is PRF Therapy?

PRF Therapy is a safe and natural treatment that consists of the extraction and re-injection of the patient’s blood cells or platelets. The blood drawn from the patient is processed through a centrifuge to separate the plasma, which contains a concentrated amount of growth factors and proteins necessary for tissue regeneration and repair. This platelet-rich fibrin is injected into the targeted scalp area which increases blood circulation and collagen production thus nourishing the hair follicles and stimulating natural healing. In time, the hair and scalp rejuvenation leads to thicker, stronger, fuller hair while reducing future hair loss.

Safe and Effective!

A remarkable benefit of PRF therapy is the minimal downtime and quick results. The procedure  is simple and performed in our clinic. Patients can resume their daily activities immediately after the treatment, with minimal restrictions. PRF is a low-risk treatment with minimal chances of complications as using the patient’s blood eliminates the risk of allergic reactions or adverse side effects that are common with certain medications or surgeries.

At SkinMD, we believe that hair restoration should be tailored to the unique needs of each individual.  Our PRF therapy may involve a series of injections performed over several sessions, with noticeable improvements after a few months. Results vary for each individual, but many patients report significantly less hair loss as well as hair regrowth and a renewed sense of confidence!

PRF therapy offers a promising solution for individuals seeking a natural and non-surgical option for hair restoration. By harnessing the power of platelet-rich fibrin, this innovative treatment accelerates healing, stimulates hair growth, and combats hair loss. The natural and safe nature of PRF injections, combined with its effectiveness and long lasting results make it a viable option for individuals looking to regain their confidence. Our knowledgeable team at SkinMD will provide a personalized, medically-guided experience. Contact us this week to schedule a consultation or appointment. Hair loss is a natural part of life that many people face, whether it’s due to aging, genetics, or other factors. It’s something that affects both men and women, and while it’s common, it can still feel frustrating and even impact your self-esteem. The good news? You don’t have to accept hair loss if you're not ready to. Thanks to advancements in hair transplant treatments, you now have the opportunity to restore your hair and regain your youthful appearance. Embrace Your Youthful Look with Hair Transplant Treatments Hair loss doesn’t have to define you, and it certainly doesn’t have to stop you from feeling as young and vibrant as you are. Whether you're dealing with a receding hairline, thinning hair, or more significant bald spots, a hair transplant can offer a permanent solution. This treatment gives you the chance to reclaim your natural hair, boost your confidence, and maintain the look you desire for years to come. Why Hair Loss Happens Hair loss can occur for a variety of reasons, but the most common cause is androgenetic alopecia, or male and female pattern baldness, which is typically genetic. Other factors, such as stress, nutritional deficiencies, or hormonal changes, can also contribute to thinning or falling hair. While these factors are often out of our control, they don’t have to be the end of the road when it comes to maintaining a full, healthy head of hair.

Botox and dermal fillers are popular treatments that help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss, providing a youthful, refreshed appearance. To get the best results, it's crucial to follow the proper pre- and post-treatment care. Here’s what you need to know for your Botox and filler treatments at SkinMD. What Do Botox and Fillers Do? Botox is an injectable neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes the muscles causing wrinkles, such as crow’s feet, forehead lines, and frown lines. Dermal Fillers restore lost volume and smooth deeper wrinkles, commonly used on areas like the lips, cheeks, and nasolabial folds. Before Your Appointment To ensure a smooth treatment and optimal results, follow these tips before your appointment: Avoid Blood Thinners : Refrain from taking NSAIDs like aspirin, ibuprofen, or Aleve for one week before your appointment, as these can increase bruising. No Alcohol : Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment to reduce bruising risks. Cold Sores : If you have a history of cold sores, especially around the mouth, inform your provider a few days before your appointment. Medication can be prescribed to prevent an outbreak. Dental Procedures : Avoid dental work for at least two weeks before and after dermal filler treatments to avoid complications. Hydrate and Eat : Be sure to drink water and eat before your appointment to avoid feeling lightheaded. Pre-Treatment Supplements : Consider taking Arnica or Bromelain to reduce bruising and swelling, and Tylenol 1 hour before the procedure for added comfort. Health Restrictions : Botox and dermal fillers are not recommended for pregnant or nursing individuals or those with certain neuromuscular disorders. After Your Appointment Proper aftercare is essential for the best results. Here’s how to care for yourself after treatment: Swelling and Bruising : Mild swelling, redness, and bruising are common but should subside within a few days. A cold compress can help reduce swelling during the first 24 hours. Hydrate : Drink plenty of water to support healing. Eating pineapple or continuing Arnica and Bromelain supplements may also help with recovery. Elevate Your Head : Sleep with your head elevated for the first few nights to minimize swelling. Makeup : Wait 24 hours before applying makeup to reduce the risk of infection. Be Patient : It can take up to two weeks for the full effects to appear, so be patient as your results settle. Follow-Up Treatments : Follow-up treatments may be recommended to maintain or enhance your results. Consult your provider for guidance.
